Two Cheshire players represent England
We have had numerous players represent England Golf in its 100 year history. But the England men’s team for the 2024 annual Home Internationals included two Cheshire players, which we believe has never happened before. Matthew Dodd-Berry was joined in the team by Daniel Hayes who, following a superb season and his recent win in the Carris Trophy, was deservedly promoted from the Boys to the Men’s team. Dan wins Carris Trophy
Dan Hayes’ tremendous progress produced a magnificent win today as he clinched the Carris Trophy at Ormskirk G.C. The Carris is the English Boys Under 18 Open Championship, and it once again attracted players from the UK and across Europe. Dan, from Bramhall GC, set a course record 66 in round one, and followed it up with with 67 and 68. But this was not enough to separate him from the French player Arthur Carlier.
Sale duo prevail at Davenport
