IF YOU ARE NEW TO THE CHESHIRE CARD:

This will be through your own APP store, whether this is Apple or Android and download the IG County App.  Then tick Cheshire as your home County.

rules & regulations

To be entitled to a Cheshire County Card you must be:

A golf member of an Affiliated Cheshire Golf Club (Gentleman or Lady).

Your details will need to be on England Golf’s WHS platform and so have a recognised handicap index.

– Holders of the card can play at most Cheshire Golf Clubs, subject to their own rules and regulations of when the Card can be used.
– Holders of the card may play at golf clubs in other County Unions who participate in the scheme. See separate page.

TO USE THE CARD YOU MUST:-

Telephone your booking in advance to the Club office or Pro at least 48 hours prior to your preferred date. It will be rare that Clubs will offer Cheshire card rates at weekends.

Produce your electronic card on request. Note that only card holders with a handicap index, may have discount, so please ensure all those playing on the county card have it downloaded onto their mobile phone and have a current handicap index.

Card holders cannot book friends who do not hold a county card to receive the discount. This County Card is not open to members of England Golf’s iGolfer scheme (Independent Golfer).

Adhere to the host clubs rules and playing conditions of the day. Clubs set the rules around time the time and days of play and the cost of the green fee.

WHERE CAN I PLAY?

The majority of England County Golf Clubs have agreed to a reciprocal arrangement with other participating clubs in the county card scheme. A full list of these clubs appears below. Conditions as above continue to apply.

golf genius

Welcome to the 2023 County Championship Diary.
This year we have migrated to Golf Genius for tournament management. This will allow you to register and pay for entry into this year’s County Championships. It will also be used on the day to manage the scoring and publication of results.

The link above will take you to the ‘Directory of Leagues and Events’ from where you can select the Championship you wish to enter.

Entry fees for 2023 are the same as they were last year. Entry fees will be collected via Stripe, a card payment system integrated within Golf Genius.

The registration form will require a Membership Number (CDH) plus an email address. In addition, optional information includes Mobile Phone Number, Date of Birth, Affiliation (Home Club). Having an email address and mobile number will allow for communication with the players, particularly useful if there are any late changes to the event. Last year there was a situation when a major accident had occurred near the club and another when an event was cancelled due to the heat. Having a Date of Birth will allow for the set up the ‘age’ categories in advance rather than on the day as was required last year.

You may also like to consider downloading the Golf Genius App to your phone which will get you closer to the information relating to each competition – you log in with your email address and set your own password. The “GGID” that you may see mentioned is a Golf Genius ID code which can refer to individual competitions (or to even more specific information within a competition).
We look forward to seeing you at the Championship over the summer months.

Stewart Neil,
CUGC Tournament Director

Under 14

Our 2022/3 squad, 16-players, have already completed a number of winter coaching sessions, with new skill tests planned along with extra putting and short game sessions, too. All of which are vital in helping the boys to further develop their game.

There’s a very busy and exciting playing program lined up, too, with inter-county matches against Lancashire U14s at Hale GC and a combined Shropshire & Hereford U16s team at Crewe GC.

In addition to 7 matches against the junior sections of Cheshire clubs we expect our squad to enter all 3 of CUGC’s junior comps, where they are eligible.

For the first time we have chosen 2 junior opens at Wilmslow and Wallasey this year, which we encourage the boys to enter. This is an ideal way of measuring themselves against other junior golfers.

Along with my colleagues, Jim McBride, Stuart Laing and Mike Jones and our pros, Mark Johnson and Matt Turnock, everyone is assured of a warm welcome and being a vital team member.
