Cheshire Union of Golf Clubs
I am delighted to report that we were able to return to our Golf Courses without any restrictions in July. Although we are all aware that we are not yet out of the woods as far as the pandemic is concerned, it is good to see players back on the course and able to play the game to the rules of golf.
Our Tournaments, Championships and matches have been able to go ahead and although there had to be some rearrangement of events scheduled for earlier in the season, we have not had to cancel any events and our Life Members’ meetings have been able proceed as planned. This has made for a very busy July and August and my thanks go out to all of the Union Executives and volunteers involved in running these events, for their unstinting efforts which are greatly appreciated.
The County is still in its Centenary Year which we hope to bring to a rousing conclusion at our Centenary Dinner on Friday 8 October at The Mere. Please contact County Office if you wish to attend.
Let us hope that we are able to continue to enjoy our golf without restrictions throughout the rest of the season and the Winter ahead, but whatever transpires in the months ahead, we will be here to advise and assist our Clubs whenever possible.
