Last year’s Cheshire Boys Captain Matthew Dodd-Berry has enjoyed a great start to the season prior to completing his A level Examinations and now the Royal Liverpool GC star is looking to continue his golfing success.

Matt said: “So far I have got off to a good start to the season winning 3/3 events that I have played in.

“An increase in strength and a drastic increase in my putting has seen me be able to put some very good rounds together.
“However there are still many events to play in and I want to win and compete in as many as I can.
“I want to thank my parents and grandparents for all the encouragement that they give me. Without out their support I wouldn’t be where I am now.
“My plans for the rest of the season are to play in some Cheshire events and Northern Order of Merit events such as the Cheshire Cat.

“I fly off to America at the end of July and I cannot wait to get started over there. I am attending East Tennessee State University where I will be on the golf team.

“We have many great events lined up including competitions in Hawaii and Puerto Rico.

“I am going to be studying sports management and I look forward to competing against the best players in the world.”
