Lymm Golf Club provided a challenging course in pristine condition for the Cheshire Junior Team Championships.

After a couple of early showers the weather improved to make this an excellent day backed by great service from the staff at Lymm with a warm welcome from Captain Alan Barton and Lady Captain Anne Cox.

There were over 80 players in the field and there were 28 teams competing for the trophy held by Crewe Golf Club.

The lead changed hands several times during the day but in a very close finish Hartford Golf Club were delighted to be first-time winners with their team of Ben Fisher 42, William Wallis-Hedges 37 and Daniel Tomlinson 35 posting a winning score of 79 to finish two points clear of Disley who won a card play off from Ringway Two.

The top individual score was an amazing 47 points from Jack Baglin (Prestbury) from George Goulding (Ringway) 44 and Ben Fisher 42.

The best gross score on -1 came from home star Freya Jackson.

Hartford will now go on to represent Cheshire in the England Team finals later in the year at fabulous Woodhall Spa.

Cheshire official Andrew Henshall (Wilmslow) presented Lymm Captain Alan Barton with a Cheshire plaque in recognition of their excellent hosting of the competition and gave due thanks to all of the players and officials who had made this a great day for Cheshire Junior Golf with their hard work and dedication.
