Cole Self has set a new record at Didsbury Golf Club where he has been a member for several years and frequently observed working hard on his game and playing in competitions.
The 14-year-old now plays off a scratch handicap and is a regular member of the Cheshire Boys teams with a good record of success which is a great reflection of the hard work he has put in.
He is also a junior member at Ringway Golf Club where is is very well regarded.
Cole's record came in the Didsbury Scratch Knock Out where he beat the ever-unlucky Peter Young to become the third junior to win the title after Haydn McCullen and Danny Wardrop.
The new record is that Cole and his dad Ian are the first-ever father and son pair to win this title and it will be recorded in gold letters on the Scratch KO honours board.
Ian said: "Cole works hard and hopefully one day he will be as good as me!"
