It was a scorching day day at Bramall Park as a full field of Cheshire Life members enjoyed the course and hospitality in another very close contest.

Just three points separated the top 11 pairs and there was just one point between the top five.

Getting the nod for top spot in a card play off on 47 points were Martyn Hall and Ian Brandon (Vale Royal Abbey) from Graham Money and Peter Williams (Bromborough).

Just a point back were John Cummins and Phil Jones (Helsby), Keith Turton (Frodsham) and David Pickering (Helsby) and Frank Gould and Fred Tomkinson (Alsager).

Also getting an honourable mention on 44 points were Cheshire President David Durling (Shrigley Hall) and Cheshire secretary Peter Whitehead (The Mere).

The competition was sponsored by Keith Thompson the Chairman of Clarion Wealth Planning Ltd.

Their strapline is ’True lifelong financial planning for the serious business of life’.
They were able to provide all of the players on the day golf balls with their logo on and for their sponsorship they will receive various invitations and promotions for Cheshire events in the coming months.

Keith was also able to play in a four ball comprising his guests Tracey Thompson, Martin Bramwell and Gwynneth Bramwell to enjoy the course and the Life Members company.

They met up with County President David Durling before and after play and he was delighted to thank them for their support and sponsorship.

Keith said: “We were delighted to have the opportunity to be Sponsors of  the Cheshire Union of Golf Clubs Life Members Day at Bramall Park Golf Club and we were proud to be able to play a small part in helping to make the event a great success.

“Congratulations to the President David Durling and to all who helped to organise the event, to all the competitors and not least to the winners.””
