Prestbury Golf Club and Cheshire County star James Newton is making a big move into professional ranks after qualifying for the 2021 Europro Tour.
James has been a regular for Cheshire Boys and Men’s teams for the past decade and has won the Boys and County Men’s Championships twice as well as plenty of other top competitions in the UK.
James played the first stage of the Europro qualifying school at Luton Hoo GC and shot 5 under and 3 under for a total of 8 under par and came third to progress to final stage.
This was held at Studley Wood and The Oxfordshire golf clubs. The field was comprised of 192 players with the top 30 gaining their full cards for the 2021 season.
James had a three round total of 11 under (-2, -5, -4) to finish 22nd and earned full playing rights for next year.
All the EuroPro events next year are covered by Sky Sports and will be followed with interest and support for James for the many friends he has made at Prestbury and Cheshire over his great time in amateur golf.
