Aaron with the u14 & u16 trophies and receiving the Chester GC Challenge Trophy
Aaron Mohun became one of very few players in the Cheshire Junior Boys Championships at Helsby when the 13-year-old won both the u14 and u16 trophies.
Aaron lives in Chester and he is home member at Delamere Forest GC together with his younger junior golfer brother Ricky.
He also practices at Chester GC where he won the men's Championships 116-year-old Challenge Trophy for the best nett score.
His father said: “Aaron gets his golfing genes from his grandfather who is a retired golf professional, Atam Mohun from Mauritius (definitely not from me!).”
Aaron was selected as a Young Ambassador for the England Golf Trust earlier in the year, but due to Covid his ambassador role activities have been somewhat limited.
Aaron has enjoyed plenty of success and experience in golf to date and he was the American Golf champion in 2017 and 2018 and was a Wee Wonders finalist and won the Lee Westwood Junior finals.
He also played in the Mauritius Junior Open and the British, European and Ping Welsh Junior Tour.
At Hillside in the Robert Rock Junior Tour he was the u14 winner and posted the third best nett score including his recent victory in the North of England Boys Under 14s at South Moor GC in July against strong national field.
He was also supposed to play at the British Masters Pro Am on the European Tour at Close House in July alongside Lee Westwood after winning the Close House Junior British Masters Open last year but it was cancelled due to Covid.
Who knows, Mr Westwood might still fancy a friendly game with Aaron at some point...?
