Wilmslow Golf Club managed to survive the horrendous weather that caused extensive flooding in nearby areas and was able to present a great course enjoyed by a quality field of junior stars from across the region competing in their annual Wilmslow Junior Open.
The best round of the day came from the home club’s scratch golfer Ryan Owen who posted 67, which is being recognised as a junior record for the club.
He took the top gross prize from Nathan Newton (Royal Liverpool GC) 72 and Sam Hall (Styal) 73.
But the top trophy goes to the best nett score and this came from Bramhall’s Liam Mann with 70-3- 67 which won on a cpo from Ryan Owen.
Next in was his Bramhall team mate Niall Curwen 68 and Dylan Caton 69.
The best u15 nett score was won by Allaster Livingston and Hannah Morrison (Chapel en le Frith) was the top girl.
Nearest the pin and Longest drive prizes were won by Dan Fosbrook, Tom Rowson and Aaron Cullen with all of the prizes presented by Wilmslow Lady Captain Hazel Dooley to complete a great day of junior golf.
