After the terrible weather conditions in the days previous to the Cheshire Boys Championships Delamere Forest put on a golfing treat in excellent weather providing a tough golfing challenge enjoyed by at talented field of players.
The top class course and the usual hospitality was provided by this wonderful club led by home Captain Dave Wright and the great team at Delamere which has hosted the competition for the past 34 years with some great names on their honours board.
Home player Jake Hibbert (+3 handicap)set a high standard in round one with a three-under-par return of 69 taking him two shots clear of Oscar Doran (Delamere Forest) and Liam Gobin (Sandiway).
Jake maintained his momentum in round two again posting 69 for a 138-total that made him virtually untouchable as he finished seven shots clear of James Ashfield (Delamere Forest) and Jack Muir (Wilmslow).
Jake was presented with the County Trophy by Cheshire President Andrew Henshall (Wilmslow) and he will represent Cheshire in the National County Championship at Frilford Heath on September 14.
The best nett was posted by Sam McLeod (Styal) 139 and the other prizes won were the best nett first 18 holes by Jack Muir 72-3-69 and the best gross round two winner was Sam Long of Delamere Forest 72.

The magnificent Delamere Forest course was beautifully prepared for this Championship. Thank you to the Captain and members for fabulous hospitality.
