CHESHIRE Golf Union are delighted to be nominated in three categories for the prestigious England Golf Awards 2018.
They have been selected by the judging panel from a record-breaking entry which shines the spotlight on fantastic achievements by volunteers, coaches, clubs and counties.
The winners will be announced on February 22 at the Awards dinner at the Royal Lancaster London.
England Golf Chief Executive Nick Pink said: “We were thrilled by the number and quality of the nominations we received and delighted that so many people are helping us to tell golf’s great stories to a wider community.
Cheshire have been nominated with Middlesex for the ‘County of the Year’ which is sponsored by Sports Marketing Surveys Inc.
Styal Golf Club, who have recently been awarded with the GolfMark, have been nominated as ‘Club of the Year, along with Burghill Valley GC, Herefordshire, Garforth GC, Yorkshire and Leeds Golf Centre with the award sponsored by HowDidiDo.
The final nomination is for ‘Coach of the Year’ sponsored by the PGA and Mottram Hall’s Matthew Turnock joins Phil Akers from The Belfry, Aaron Lansberry Hatchford Brook Golf Centre Warwickshire and Anders Mankert from Cosby GC Leicestershire.
The Cheshire committee are delighted with the nominations that reflect the hard work and forward-thinking aims of the county at all levels of golf.
