Cheshire Mixed Championship 2017

Vale Royal Abbey Golf Club again hosted the 3rd Cheshire Mixed Foursomes Championship. Growing from strength to strength the Cheshire Union and Cheshire County Ladies Golf Association invite Cheshire clubs to send their Mixed Foursomes champions to the county final.

This year, 34 clubs were represented who produced some excellent golf and the usual close finish with card play-offs required for the top three clubs, all on 38 Stableford points.

Eventual winners were Lymm pair, Jill Davies and David Jones from Edwina Greenwood and Alan Horne of Warrington. Just forced out of the prizes were Jeanette Kinder and Tony Barnes of Reddish Vale.

The winners were presented with their prizes by Cheshire President, Sean Ritchie (Chester GC) and County Ladies Captain, Barbara Baird (Vicars Cross).

Vale Royal were thanked by both for hosting the event for the third time and were looking forward to returning in 2018. County President also hoped that England Golf would move towards creating a national event for County Champions in the near future.
