Senior Men beat Lancashire in League Encounter
Another exceptional league win for Cheshire's senior men's team leaves four teams tied on 4 points in league table

Cheshire and Lancashire Senior Men’s teams enjoyed a great day at a sunny Stockport Golf Club who presented a superb course and top class hospitality to players, officials and supporters as they hosted this Northern Counties League match.
The morning Greensomes showed the quality and ambition of both teams as it ended at 3-3.
Picking up the points for Cheshire in the morning session were Mike Wallwork and Dave Nelson two up, Gareth Bradley and Martin Keates 2/1 and there were halves for Simon Bolam and Phil Leadbetter and Martyn Grimley and Neil Hickson.
Cheshire came out with all guns blazing for the afternoon four-balls with wins for Mike Wallwork and Dave Nelson two up, Richard Stockdale and Paul Knight 2/1 and Guy Hindle and Chris Massey 2/1 with victory secured with a half for Gareth Bradley and Martin Keates.
Lancashire won the last two games but it was not enough to prevent a 10-8 win for Cheshire.
Cheshire Seniors Captain Lee Turner said: “it was a great win for the team who battled hard all day against a very strong Lancashire team.
“The afternoon start was imperative and we won the top three matches.
“Richard and Paul won four holes on the spin to turn their match around to beat a pair containing the Lancashire County stroke-play champion.
“Thanks to Stockport GC for being great hosts and it was also great to see team members who were not playing turn up to support the lads.”
