Cathy said: “This is an annual event where 12 of the best Cheshire girls take on 12 of the best Cheshire boys at Bramhall GC.

“They play 18 holes of individual Stableford golf, with all scores being tallied together at the end and the team with the highest points tally wins.

“Their scores are also entered for the Bramhall Junior Open, which takes place on the same day.

“The boys played very well, winning by 392 to 364 Stableford points.

“Naomi Willans, Cheshire Girls Junior Captain, came second in the Junior Open with 39 points.

“The course at Bramhall was in superb condition, although the players found the greens and pin positions very tricky.

“One of the boys commented that 'Although there's supposed to be six easy, six medium and six

hard pins in a competition and after nine holes he'd only played the 'hard ones'.

“Bramhall GC staff greeted us with their usual warm welcome and great hospitality, even though there was a wedding anniversary party and their Junior Open going on at the same time as our match.

“Many thanks to the team at Bramhall GC for hosting us and especially their President for starting our groups off.

“Thanks also to all Cheshire officials, Cheshire Photographers and parents for supporting the event and making it such a great success.

“Special thanks must go to our players though who are a real credit to themselves and Cheshire Golf by

the way they conduct themselves and play their golf. Well done everyone!
