Celebration Dinner

Presidents of Cheshire & EGU & wivesA dinner was held on 26th January at Sandiway Golf Club by the President, Vice Presidents and Executive in honour of Fred Caröe and Nigel Evans. The dinner celebrated Fred Caröe's year as President of the English Golf Union, and Nigel Evan's retirement on the Cheshire Executive after 25 years of service.

Roy, George & PhilThree Cheshire players represented their respective countries in the Senior Home Internationals on 28th to 30th September at Aberdovey. They were Phil Jones (Bromborough) for Wales, George Payne (Prestbury) for Scotland and Roy Smethurst (Crewe) for England. England were winners

EGU Northern Counties League

Cheshire Team 2004Cheshire won the EGU Northern Counties League with a magnificent 10 - 8 victory over Lancashire at Royal Lytham & St Annes. Down 4 -2 in the morning foursomes Cheshire came back to win the singles 8 - 4 to claim victory and the title. As Cumbria lost to Yorkshire, this gives Cheshire a four point lead with one match remaining.
